fianlly managed to get knoppmyth installed and im now trying to edit some configs to get it all to work, however.....

whenever i run the 'edit' command ie 'edit interfaces' to change my ip

it gives me an error about unknown mime-type using application

anyone shed any light on where im going wrong ?
(prolly sumthin stoopid)

I think you use "netcardconfig" to configure your IP

i just used that as an example i get the problem whatever file im trying to edit. sorry if im not that clear

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding.

To edit a file, you need to use vi, which I believe is the text editor included by default with KnoppMyth. Or, if you would rather use something simpler, install nano....

yes I'm not sure what edit is in unix never used it, I would suggest learning vi as it will be available in every unix like enviornment. to learn it run vimtutor and at least go through the first leson or two which will teach you how to open save modify cut paste etc.
