I have a PVR-250 with the grey remote.

When I installed MythTV I selected i686, and the remote was working great. Suddenly the remote stopped working while I was in mythtv, and it hasn't worked since. I've run the install-i686-l command, but that didn't fix it. Any suggestions?

OK, my problem seems to be the IR plug on the PVR-250...it just isn't make a good connection.

Now I ahve another problem...when I put a DVD in and try to play it, Myth freezes. I'll do a search on the boards though to see if anybody else has had this problem.

My guess is it doesn't freeze it just doesn't play the dvd and instead shows a black screen. This is the correct behavior for trying to play and encripted dvd, because the MPAA doesn't want you to be able to view your movies on any device they haven't approved. There are ways around this, but beware the DMCA, which is why the dreaded decss was not shipped with knoppmyth.

Searches on this forum might get you close enough to figure it out, if not google searches should get you fixed right up.

It doesn't show a black screen...it just sits at the screen where I selected "Play DVD" I can't back out or anything...it seems frozen.

Also, I was under the impression that I couldn't rip encrypted DVD's...I can't even PLAY them? hmm...I guess I'll have to look into fixing that.

Blame the DMCA ;)

Meanwhile you can google for more info on how to address this issue.
