I want to setup MythTV, but im not sure if my computer is strong enough! All I want to do is watch LiveTV standalone and record TV while I am away.

Current Hardware
AMD Duron 500mhz
384MB SD RAM
Intel Motherboard
GF2mx400 video card with S-Video Out
Winfast TV2000 XP
80 Gig hard-drive

Current Location
Sydney Australia and I have optus cable television. Apparently tehre is something called tv_grab_au which has an option for 'australia-optus' or something but i dont know how to set it up

Not too sure about...
Wireless USB Card - the chipset seems supported on Linux-Wlan.com but I read somewhere that most wireless cards arent supported by Debian which knoppmyth is based on

The Hardware...read above

HOw to set it up, I am a complete linux n00b. I read somewhere that to setup the winfast tv2000 xp i have to input card=34 radio=2 video=1 into bttv. What does that mean?

Remote Control that came with the winfast card - how to get it working?

Any hints, tips, suggestions or how-tos ? anyone?

Have you read the instructions? That is the first place to start. The install docs and the MythTV docs. A Duron 500 maybe enough to record and playback, but it is not powerful enough for live TV.
