HI!

i've just installed R4v2 and it's working great however everytime i push the watch-tv button in mythtv , it sets my capture resolution to 480x480... :-( I'm in a PAL country and the resolution i want to capture in is 720x576. IVTV has been set to PAL and my /var/logs/messages displays : Setting full PAL width and Setting full PAL height at startup.
When ever i choose to watch tv it displays the folloving i /var/log/messages:
Feb 17 20:30:00 mythtv kernel: saa7115[0]: decoder set size
Feb 17 20:30:00 mythtv kernel: Hpsc: 0x00001, Hfsc: 0x00600
Feb 17 20:30:00 mythtv kernel: Vsrc: 576, Vscy: 0x004cc

My recording profiles(default & Live-tv) in tv-settings in mythtv is set to 720x576. In Mythtv-setup the settings are set to PAL...

Wassup with this ???

Thanks in Adv.
Regards Daniel

Did you adjust the settings in MythTV? The default is 480x480. It doesn't matter if you used test_ioctl to set it higher. I suggest taking a look at you recording profiles.

my question is from your messages post the only thing I see is 576 what makes you think it's 480x480?

Yes, all configuration information is stored in the database.

To setup for PAL

As root find the tuner type

Code:
modprobe tveeprom
tail /var/log/syslog

this will have a line with tuner=........type=x

edit /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv
here is the contents of mine
(options tuner type should equal x from above)
Code:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
options ivtv debug=0 ivtv=pal
options tuner type=1
options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
add below ivtv msp3400 saa7115 tuner
add above ivtv lirc_dev lirc_i2c

edit /etc/sysconfig/ivtv/cfg-0
Code:
IVTV_TUNER=[tuner type] #1 for uk
IVTV_TYPE=[PAL|NTSC]

Setup mythtv to use PAL in mythtv-setup

Setup the recording profiles in mythtv->configure
mpeg2-Encoders->liveTv 720x576
etc...

From your post it looks like you have done most of this so I put the whole procedure I do through to ensure nothing is missed.

If this doesn't help, how big is the movement. When I have it at 480 it jumps up and down by about 15% quickly. Without de-interlace it jumps only about a line quickly. If the jumps are not evenly spaced it may be another problem.
Hope it helps
Pete
