Hi,

I have installed Knoppmyth using the autoinstall feature.

I am not using a TV card at all just an old generic BT848 capture card, to try things out.

When I feed composite PAL into the card, and try to watch the input under watch TV I get the sort of picture you usually get if the BT848 card is set to the wrong TV standard. Black andn white and generally messed up.
I have tried adding options bttv card=0 followed by update-modules, but that doesnt help. Neither does multiple attempts to force PAL at the install stage.

Any ideas ?

card=0 is for autodetect. Perhaps bttv cannot auto detect your card and it needs to know specifically what card and tuner you do have.

Thanks for the reply. I eventually found that the card was actually an old card from Bigpicture video confrence, (which is a haupage WINTV card without the tuner)

Forcing it to CARD=2 leads to an "eeprom error"



The key point was that it needed to have pll=1 set.

Now it is working
(picture is terrible ! but it lets me try out Knoppmyth )
