There are only 5 steps in manual installation and I'm already having trouble. I think I just need a few details clarified for me.

Quote:
1 - "create the partitions"

I made the partitions. I know how they map to the four default (hda1-4) partitions for an automatic install.

Quote:
2 - Load config
Use a configuration path of /KNOPPIX/knoppmyth

This is where my confusion starts. Load which config, and how? Like into a text editor? Does this step essentially mean "load /KNOPPIX/knoppmyth into vi"?

Quote:
3 - Configure installation
Choose /dev/hda1 as the partition upon which to put KnoppMyth. Provide the requested information.

I'm assuming this step is just editiing the file from step 2 using the comments in it as a guide for customizing the configuration and then saving it elsewhere so it can be used for the installation.

Quote:
4 - Start installation
This will take some time as all the files are coppied to disk. Please be patient.

How do I start the installation? How do I tell it to use the configuration I made in step 3?

Quote:
5 - Reboot
This one I can handle. :)

Please advise. Thanks!

Ben

Perhaps the option in the menu that states "Load configuration"...

I have never seen that option in any menu. I am stuck in the same post-partitioning infinite loop that was mentioned in another post.
