I haven't been able to get the on board audio to produce any sound. As I never had the audio hooked up on the machine prior to this, and nothign is complaining yet I have no audio, I picked up a SB Live 5.1 card today to install. Will be putting it in tomorrow.

Once I disable the onboard audio in the BIOS, I wanted to inquire if there is anything special I need to do to use the SB Live card in my fresh KnoppMyth install. KnoppMyth is up, but I have been futzing with channel lineups so it hasn't made it to the living room or done a single recording yet.

Is an installed system still good at autodetectin hw changes and updating things?
