Using r4v3...chose auto install......following instructions..used ctl-alt-f1 to get command prompt..logged in as root......trying to edit /etc/X11/XFConfig-4 with vi but vi won't even open the file or any other file for that matter. Am I missing something here?

Thanks

did you wait till after the install was done and had rebooted from the harddrive? if you did then I have no idea why you can't edit the files.

Figured it out....The media that I used for the install was scratched so I burned a new copy and reinstalled without problems. Everything works fine now.

Thanks for the help
