Anyone have an ABIT IS-10 (or any other Intel 685G chipset) mnthboard w/PVR-350, Tv-Out working?

When starting tv, I get about 10 seconds of slow motion picture then it freezes. Any ideas why?

Checked the /var/log/messages and found:
PCI: found IRQ 5 for device 1:9.0 (iVTV15)
PCI: Sharing IRQ5 with 0:1f.3 ( lspci say its SMBus: Intel corp,: unknown device 24d3 (rev 02) )
PCI: Sharing IRQ5 with 0:1f.5 ( lspci say its:Multimedia audio controller: Intel corp,: unknown device 24d5 (rev 02) )
.
.
.
spurious 8259A Interupt: IRQ7

Checked the /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log and found:
Could not read data from the capture card in 15 seconds.....

Checked the /var/log/debug and did not find any errors.

Setup steps:

1) Installed R4V4, using auto install
2) Ran setup and got picture on crt (no sound)
3) Noted that s/pdif 5.1 port not lit up....
4) edited /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv (per wiki thread)
5) following instructions, rmmod...,insmod...
6) captured video from /dev/video ok
7) dd'ed from video to video16, picture but no sound
8) recompiled ivtv for new msp3400.o
9) re-ran dd, got picture and sound
10) modified XF86Config-4
11) rebooted
12) GUI appears
tests:
13) freeze on watch tv
14) tried music, no sound
15) no video on non-crypted DVD (Benny Hill :) )
16) get weather ok
17) get news feeds ok

FYI, originally tried SageTv and Tv-Out works ok without GUI, with GUI, it freezes. Appears that there is a problem with Haupauge's drvers and the combo of newer intel chipset and pvr-350 tv-out. I assume ivtv is using their own driver to power pvr-350.....

Thanks.

I have an ABIT IS-10 motherboard w/PVR-350, R4V4.1 installed.
Installing the normal way was impossible, because the installation halted scroll lock and caps lock flashing. At the boot prompt typing tv vga=normal option the installation went smoothly. The other steps were similar, except installing ivtvdev_drv.o. EPG now works great on the tv.

Thanks for the response.

I assume you applied the X fix from http://membres.lycos.fr/badzzzz/ Did you also apply the patches he has (ivtv-fb-fix-prepdma.diff)?

Are you getting sound from the PVR-350 and piping it back into the sound card or going directly to your AV receiver or TV? I noticed that the 5.1 port "light" is not turned on with KnoppMyth install (does turn on under w2k), therefore I assume it isn't enabled or there is no driver for it......

Thanks.

Yes

No

The sound goes directly to the TV. The internal player sends the video and sound directly to the TV (unlike mplayer).

Thanks for your help.

With the ivtvdev_drv.o I get video from tv-out. But appears to be dropping frames or not updating in a smooth fashion. My eyes tire watching the basketball game last night.

Found a few DMA read error messages.

Will do a total rebuild this weekend and check it again. May try wrooters way if it doesn't fix this problem....

Regards.
