sure you can. i've been using a PVR350 for simultaneous capture and TV-out for months. oh, also, i have no monitor connected.

Well I threw in the towel and bought a refurbed GF4 MX 440. The quality sucks compared to what I was getting out of the 350, but at least now my system seems to be rock solid. Right now I just want to get the box finished up and be able to use mplayer. I'll give the 350 another shot after the next knoppmyth release!!

I also wanted to include a link to a thread I just saw about IRQ sharing. After reading it I noticed that my 350 was sharing IRQ 5 with my sound card. I'm guessing this might have helped with my stability problems but I'd still be left with mplayer issues. Check out your /proc/interrupts file and the thread:

I resolved my IRQ conflict by turning off unused ports, such as USB and parallel ports.

I'm in the process of re-installing everything to try to resolve jerky picture, most likely droping frames or something.
