Interesting, I should have paid more attention to the logs. Looking at the tvee output I get:

kernel: tvee: Hauppauge: model=32032, rev=B382, serial#=726....
kernel: tvee: tuner=<unknown> (idx=82, type=-1)
kernel: tvee: tuner fmt=NTSC(M) (eeprom=0x08, v4l2=0x00001000)
kernel: tvee: audio_processor=MSP3440 (type=11)

As for what's on the big white label on the card, it corresponds to the info above:

NTSC/NTSC-J
32032
REV B382

Curious, I looked over the tveeprom.c source in ivtv (even from CVS-LATEST). In particular, the hauppauge_eeprom() function where it attempts to figure out the specs of the card. It clearly doesn't understand what to do with tuner idx 82.

I guess it's another one of those "too bad, so sad" moments. This rev of hardware is clearly not properly understood.

I think I have this exact same card.

I got it working by following wal0jes's instructions:

I modified the "options tuner type=2" and made it "tuner=39"

However, I think he made a slight typo. Following his instructions directly still results in noise. This, on the other hand, works for me:
Quote:
options tuner type=39

this appears to be a common problem right now. I have a newer PVR250MCE that reports an unrecognized tuner. Fortunately, it works fine with SVIDEO input (which I am using). I am currently running a bleeding edge build of ivtv-0.1.0pre2 and bttv 0.9.15 and it still can't deal with my card. The IVTV developers are aware of these new cards and are updating ivtv as quickly as possible. Hauppage seems to be going through a lot of new tuners these days...

Ok, I changed my tuner to Options tuner type = 39 and now I have video and sound on 2 channels (5 & 6). I get audio on some of the other channels, but just static. What can I do to fix this? Do I have something else set up wrong? Thanks to everyone who has helped so far, I was so excited when I finally saw a picture on my TV.

Check the channel settings that you configured under the "Video Sources" setup.
