Post subject:  Kernel Panic on Initial Install

Ok you all have another linux rook on your hands. Story goes, I installed XP Pro on my HD earlier today after being told if I want to dual boot I need to install XP first. KnoppMyth install looks good until a little after it detects my drives i get:

Quote:
Kernel Panic : VFS : Unable to mount root fs on 3:02

Tried failsafe and expert installs as well. Any help would be appreciated!

Much thanks,

Max

P.S. I'm doing this install through a different computer and then I am going to transplant the hard drive, what problems am I going to run into if i do the install on a different computer.

Have you got the disk you're going to install KnoppMyth on installed as the primary master device? (aka C:, aka /dev/hda, ...) If it's a SATA device have you done the appropriate fiddling around to either make it look like the primary master or done a manual install?
