Hi,

I would be suppecting a bad cd burn, try booting using the cdtest option. If the cd is bad (or can't be read on that drive) it will abort.

You will have to search for the exact boot prompt entry :(

Ok, Testcd says:
Linux load, booting the Kernel and after it he dies.

Hi,
It shouldn't do that. If the burn was good it would go through the various parts of the cd while testing and if good, then start the install.
I would suggest a new burn, maybe try a different make of cd, and do a slow burn. There has been reports of incompatablities of burner and readers.

Remember, testcd can't be the only boot option, and case matters. Try:
Code:
expert tv testcd

As MIke noted, a bad/incompatible burn is another very likely explaination.

I would actually suspect that it's trying to do something to the display and it's going wrong. There are actually boot time options for controlling that and other people have had similar problems which were solved by using them, but I don't remember what they are off the top of my head. Maybe Cecil or Xsecrets can help.
