Hello,

I currently have a R5A16 machine that I'd like to upgrade to RC5C7. Knoppmyth is installed on a SATA drive, and /myth is on two 200GB PATA drives setup as a RAID-0 in /etc/raidtab.

I know I had to manually install Knoppmyth initially since I am using a SATA drive, but I haven't found any information regarding upgrading. Can I use the auto-upgrade procedure, since the partition table is all setup on the SATA drive already?

Thanks for any info!!

No, you have to start off with the manual install process to get the new image in place (be careful to leave the /myth partition alone!), and manually touch the semaphore file which signals the 2nd phase to do an upgrade. There's a post by Cecil around somewhere with the details. You'll also need to fix your /etc/fstab and mount /myth before entering the password to enter the second phase setup. See my R5C7 upgrade hints thread for that.

Is this the post by Cecil you are referring to? (Second one in the thread):

BTW - You can fiddle with those files at the same time as doing that other stuff I mentioned. I'll go add a note to the R5C7 upgrade thread...
