Hi everyone,

I just downloaded the myth tv iso and my checksum checks out. When I try to do an auto installation, it bombs out with the following error:

ide-scsi: hda: unsupported command in request queue (0)
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 0
ide-scsi: hda: unsupported command in request queue (0)
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 2
ide-scsi: hda: unsupported command in request queue (0)
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 4
ide-scsi: hda: unsupported command in request queue (0)
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 6
/usr/local/lib/bin/KnoppMyth-auto: line 608: / 1000000: syntax error: operand expected (error token is "/1000000")
root@tty1[/]#

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Machine is:
A7N266-VM (nforce1) bios 1.07, PCB 1.05
Athlon 2100+ Tbred-b (1733mhz)
WD1200JB (7200rpm IDE 120GB, 8MB cache)
1 GB PC2700 Ram (2 x 512MB ddr)

I have a pchdtv card coming (er, I think thats the name..it's whatever is listed as working on the mythtv site), and I'm hoping to get this figured out before it gets here.

After reading through the forums I have tried all of the below, but nothing helped:

1) Manual install (this then happens at the end)
2) Changing APIC -> PIC in the bios
3) rechecking the checksum on the iso I downloaded. It matches exactly.
4) I tried using a different hard drive (30GB)

Any ideas? I'm sure someone must have this working, as I remember reading reports of other people using a7n266-vm successfully.

Thanks,

Rob

try making sure that your hard drive is on the first ide port, not the ide raid port, but the primary ide and then do autoinstall.

Post subject:  Actually...

My cd-rw/dvd-rom are primary master/slave and hard drive is on the secondary ide controller.

I will swap them and see what happens.

Thanks!

I know autoinstall will not work unless the hard drive is primary master, but you should still be able to do manual install, but if you don't have to have the drives in a particular order then it would probably just be easier to put your hard drive as primary master and do autoinstall.

I put it as primary master and it looks like it's installing.

Did I miss a section of the faq/documentation ? I feel like an idiot for thinking it was something weird, first.

well it's covered a couple of places on the forums, but I don't think it's in the documentation. Basically the install script is expecting the hard drive to be hda.
