| Post subject: | DMA Timeout during initial boot |
I'm attempting to boot the latest knoppmyth cd image R5C7, when booting it gets to: Setting Paths Creating Directories and symlinks on /ramdisk Then proceeds to error out saying: hdc: DMA timeout retry it then tries again, fails and attempts to continue the installation, however it seems to be having major issues as it tries to uncompress the files and continuously gives a "tray open" error. This has happened before but usually just trying again made it work. Any thoughts? System: Dell Dimension 4400 1.6 P4 256 RAM current install of knoppmyth (forget which release, but it's mythtv .16) |

try a different CD drive in the pc if you have a spare around.. |
