Post subject:  Upgrade from R5B7 to R5D1 syntax error operand expand

I tried the auto upgrade from R5B7 to R5D1 following this post:

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ace119f739

and this wiki:

http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... storeHowTo

The backups were confirmed with check_backup.sh

I run into trouble when I get to the auto installer.

It exits with this error:

/usr/local/bin/KnoppMyth-upg line 1039 /1024 syntax error: operand expanded (error token is "/1024")

I have KnoppMyth installed on SATA drives with 1 GB RAM

Motherboard - Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS Micro ATX AMD
Processor - AMD 3200 Venice Socket 939

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can't use auto upgrade with a SATA drive. I'm pretty sure that Cecil's Pamphlet says something about this. See the section on Manual Upgrade.

I ran into the same error when trying to upgrade on an IDE drive. I tried a fresh install as well and it kept failing with similar errors during the install, so I went back to C7 and it installed perfectly.

I burned three separate disks and all passed a checksum test with "testcd" and I compared MD5 sums on the ISO I downloaded as well. I'm not sure what happened, but I decided to just wait until the next ISO is released with MythTV v0.20.
