Title says it all. I'm wondering because I recently reinstalled my machine due to getting a bigger drive. Originally, I had to download new sound drivers to get my sound to work. However, this time I didn't. I used the exact same burned cd for both installs, so the only reason I can think of is because KM downloaded updates while it installed.

I think it downloads the video drivers during install. I know it connects to the nvidia site during the install anyway.

No idea if it downloads sound drivers though.

It downloads nothing. Perhaps reading the changelog....

Then why would I have to update my sound drivers during one install, but not the other? The only thing that changed was the hard drive. I reinstalled with the exact same hardware using the exact same cd.

Odd. I could have sworn the install connects to nvidia at one point. When I installed C7 originally, I hadn't had the network cable hooked up yet, and it kept hanging on trying to resolve the address.

Maybe it's MythTV that connects and installs drivers rather than KM?

Cecil, no offense, but the instructions and the changelogs aren't the easiest things for new users to understand. At least I had trouble, but I might be unusually stupid.
