Hello all, just wanted to say you have made my day with this program/distro

I have been using knoppix for while and heard about knoppmyth from the knoppix website.

All parts of the installation went smooth, and I was scocked :)

However I cannot use my grey hauppauge remote control at all with mythtv

I have read the other posts about this as well as the myth tv docs but cant seem to pinpoint the problem.

The hardware seems to be working, when i run irw to test the remote, it shows that the remote is working and connected. I also looked at the /home/mythtv/lircrc file and it seems to be correct.

Any idea why its not working?

I have exactly the same issue as this guy.

Everything else seems to work great, but the remote has no function.

I must say, I am completely blown away by the thoroughness and ease of installation of KnoppMyth. I have tens of hours in other Myth install methods -- through Gentoo, RH, etc. -- but KnoppMyth is absolutely the most progress I have made toward a usable solution in the least time. Congratulations on an outstanding job.

Just out of curiosity which install did you do as in i168-l i686-lx i586 etc?

Woohoo, the remote is working, when I installed, I had selected the "default" option for the step you are refering to, and I think that was the problem. After reading another post, I ran the install-i686-l script and it fixed the problem!

Now I am going to try and get dual-tuners to work so I can watch and record at the same time :)

Installing the modules was exactly and all I needed to make it work great.

Congratulations again on a great system.
