Using R4V3 the auto-install doesn't set the /boot partition as bootable.

My workaround was that after the auto-install finishes I reboot with the CD still in the tray. Choose a manual install, Choose partition. Mark /boot as bootable (don't modify any other partitions). Hit W to write the partition info. Hit Q to exit. Do an Alt-Ctrl-Del to reboot without the CD.

Everything seems to work fine after that.

I have the same problem using R4V4 but the fix didn't work. When I write the boot table, it returns with an error on re-read. When I reboot I have the same problem. I can reboot again with the CD and see that the partition is flagged as bootable, but it doesn't boot. I am able to install both WinXP and Debian (30r1), so I don't think it's a problem with the drive itself.

Fixed it by using the software that came with the drive. It was a pain since I had to pull a floppy drive out of another PC as I didn't plan to have one in a settop box. :D
