I've been messing around with xf86config-4 file (to get output to TV instead of monitor), but the neither is showing anything. Is there a way to revert back? (I saved the xf86config-4 to another name and copied the xf86configTV-out.sample to replace xf86config-4 to try tv-out).

Upon boot, once it checks Nvidia, the screen goes blank. There doesn't seem to be any opportunity to do anything else. Do I have to reinstall?

If not, try looking here:

Hi,

What version? Lately the xserver uses xorg.conf.

You can always drop to the shell by hitting ctl-alt-f1 and attempt to reconfigure. You can switch back to the main display by hitting ctrl-alt-f7 etc...

Either way, if you are on the current version (5E50), xorg.conf is the correct config file. Back up your xorg.conf file and look for the .tvout.sample version of xorg.
