I was just curious if the autoinstall option would work to downgrade from R4V3 to R4V2 and still save the recordings etc and get them back in the database properly? |

I strongly suspect so. The install part seems to be brute force, just wipe the root partition and copy stuff off of the CD. Then the mythrestore script copies a bunch of stuff back from tarballs and a DB dump. One of the developers could give a more definative answer, but that's the way I'd bet. |

No, an auto install would wipe your system clean. Auto Upgrade is what you want to use. |

Yes, run mythbackup on R4V3 then use Auto Upgrade on R4V2. |

cool for some reason the prism and orinoco drivers included with r4v3 don't like my system, must be something to do with the newer kernel. |
