Coming from Tivo, the Season Pass is fairly simple:

Select Season pass and whether you want first run or not and pretty much that's it.

If I want similar (or the same) functionality in MythTV, let's say I want "Medium" on NBC. Do I set it up like this?

Go to Recordings, schedule recordings, and use the program guide. Find Medium, select:

Record at any time on this channel
Scheduling Options -> Match duplicates based on subtitle and description

But I don't see a "first run" option? (ie, no repeats).

Is that the "look for duplicates" setting?

Yes, although it will stil record rerun episodes that are "new to you" as far as it knows. You can also use the custom scheduling "power search" to check arbitrary DB information like whether the "rerun" flag is set. On the other hand you may find this flag set for stuff that was broadcast _anywhere_ before. For example AZNTV has lots of stuff making that's making it's US premier marked as "reruns". ;-)

Ah, okay. I was thinking about using the "R" flag (usually it's correct for most mainstream shows)

Of course, even my Tivo "first run" has a bad setup. Apparently Tivo in their infinite wisdom decided that "first run" is first run ANYWHERE. So Dr. Who "first" showed in the BBC in Europe, so when it came to the US on Sci-Fi Channel, they considered it NOT a "first run". So you have to set your Tivo to record ALL episodes (otherwise it will never record "first run only" because it "first" ran somewhere else). Which is retarded, IMO.

Thanks for the caveat about the "R" flag though. I suppose worst case is that I have it look in the past and see if it is "new" to it or not.
