Post subject:  Installation with new PVR-250

I just purchased a new pvr-250 and I installed it in my mythbox beside my Winfast2000.

I decided to reimage the box with an auto install.
At setup time I selected the i686 scripts with remote support.

There are two problems and maybe they are related.

1. The ivtv drivers are not being loaded, I need to execute modprobe ivtv to load the drivers once the system is up.

2. The remote is not working. I have tracked this problem down to lircd not getting started. If I start lircd then I can use irw to verify functionality.

I was assuming that with a pvr-250 my setup of the box would be a no brainer. What am I doing wrong to get the pvr-250 and remote to work?

I am willing to reimage if necessary.

Thanks,
Mike G.

More info.

If I exit the frontend, start lircd and re-enter the frontend the remote works.

Thanks,
Mike G.

not really sure why the ivtv driver is not loading on boot for you it is supposed to, but to force it in the /etc/modules file add a new line with ivtv

I completed a fresh install with just the new pvr-250.

The system successfully configured, remote and all.

I then installed the Winfast 2000. The system remained stable, although I am still trying to get the second tuner to work.

PIP seems a little unstable and my system would freeze if I entered into PIP and exited into a single tuner mode. I believe that the stablity is due to the configuration of the second tuner.

Thanks,
Mike G.

well you do know you have to use the card=34 tuner=2 options on the leadtek card right?
