R5E5 > R5F1 upgrade failed

Post subject:  R5E5 > R5F1 upgrade failed

getting an error message when i try to upgrade to the newest version using auto upgrade.

getting error "Knoppmyth-upg error line 1967 /1024"

also getting the same error if i try a clean install

The hard drive is a SATA.

any ideas..?

This type of error usually means you didn't actually pick a drive. Did you hit the space bar to select the drive and see an X (checkmark) appear in front of it?

OBTW - I think you mean R5E50. To the best of my knowledge there's no such thing as R5E5 in public release.

correct had the wrong version,

but yes, i selected the drive showed a x but keep getting that error.

ok. stranger, disconnected the other Sata drive from the computer, now it selects the hard drive. but fails because it can`t see the /myth partition because it on the second Sata Drive.

Hi,

At what point do you get the error? First run of the auto upgrade or when the auto upgrade completes and is doing the reboot?

If at first stage, disconnect the second drive, do the auto upgrade and when it goes for the reboot, power off re-connect the drive?

Just a suggestion.

Well, you can auto upgrade to the one drive. After upgrading, shut down the system and plug in your second drive and boot it up. Before doing anything in the configuration, modify you /etc/fstab to reflect /myth being on your second drive. Mount /myth and continue w/ upgrade...

thanks that was the solution i ended up trying last night. that fixed that problem
