Hello,

I am trying to get a new installation of R5F1 working on my KnoppMyth box. I had a working installation of R5E50 and have done an upgrade. I have a PVR-350 that is configured for TV-out. For some reason when I have MythTV play back a recording or watch tv Xorg draws a black screen over the video. Has anyone else run into this? If so, did you ever find a solution?

Thanks for your help!

Justin

See the R5F1 Hints. Search within the page for "350".

To repeat something I said yesterday:
Quote:
With so many people upgrading to R5F1 now (and to R5F'x' soon) I'm going to take a second to get up on my soapbox to beg and plead with anyone who happens to reads this.

Please, if you're doing an install or an upgrade, read the R5F1 (or R5Fx) Hints threads. An investment of 5-10 minutes to do that before hand will save you endless grief.

Please! The sanity you save may be your own.

Even after the fact you should find a lot of useful information above and beyond the fix.

Okay, I found the solution.

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15276

I edited /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv and /etc/X11/xorg.conf as described and video out works properly now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

And to save Cecil the trouble:

Technically this wasn't an issue with an intsall. Hence it should not have been posted in the Installation forum. The install worked and you were trying to play back a recording.

Since it was a configuration issue, it probably should have gone in the General forum.
