i don't know, where to put my questions, so please forgive me, if it is wrong here!

Ok; First is to say - I'm really, completely NEW with Linux! I installed myHTPC with my PVR350 getting his EPG via Internet - TVMovie ( for Germany).

I read in german Newsgroup about KoppMyth, so that should be for NON-LinuxPeople easy to install etc. So i decided to give it a try!

I want to get the benefits of the 'Commercial-Break-Hoppings' Mythtv can do!!!!

I installed the last KnoppMyth.iso R4v4 - all went well till the known point where xmltv-grabber for germany does not work! So an error occured!

So what must be my next step, to find my channels, to download, install and see german EPG's via Internet (not via other TVCard?) and will i get the benefits of 'commercial-break-hopping' as well with my PVR350 ????

Cause i'm a really, really NEWBIE in Linux i'm looking for any helping-links, maybe as well in german?

another thing,that confuses me: I see on the mythTV-Desktop the Buttons f.e. Musik, Photos... but when i put in my photo-CD, nothing could be selected, all ghost-scripted! Or I put in a vcd or dvd, pressed Button: play vcd or dvd, nothing happens!

Do i have to download and install extra modules??? the only modul that works for now is the weather-modul! -Looks great!

Pls guys, give me an NEWBIE-Learning-link and -hints and soory form my bad english, school is a long, long time ago now

I hope that mythTV will really serve me (PVR350) in germany.....

First off, have you searched the forum. I do believe someone wrote up how they got EPG data in Germany. You don't have to install extra modules as all but MythBrowser are included. KnoppMyth doesn't play encrypted DVDs. I've seen MPlayer have issues w/ some VCDs but not many. For PhotoCDs, you should probably symlink a directory from /dev/cdrom to /myth/gallery/photocd. As I don't have or use PhotoCDs, I don't know how well this will work.
