bear with me I am new to linux/Knoppmyth I am trying to install R5F27. When I select tv at boot: the screen goes blank and nothing happens. I have tried this option with a monitor and alternately a tv attatched via composite out. The install works if I do not select the tv option at boot but I would like to set my resolution to 800x600. Can this be set later (in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file?) My video card is an Asus V6600 (NVidia GeForce 256) and I am connecting to an analogue tv. Sorry if this has been covered, I tried searching but no luck. |

Yes. All you need is an appropriate xorg.conf, there are any number posted around here including mine. For a video card that old I'm not sure the nvidia driver even support it. Make sure it's using the oldest one (1.0.71856) or the vesa driver. Also see the troubleshooting pages for how to check your logfiles. OBTW - You'll get better output quality with 640x480 on an analog NTSC TV. |

thanks tjc I installed the 1.0.7185 driver and edited my xorg.conf and everything worked |
