When I try to install knoppmyth, I get the error "can't find knoppix filesystem, sorry. Dropping you to a (very limited) shell.
press reset button to quit.

I have set the bios to boot from the cd drive, and the hd is set to master.

My system specs are:
asus m2npv-vm motherboard
amd am2 x2 4400+
2gb ddr2 6400 800 ocz ram
pioneer dvr-112 dvd burner
and a maxtor 40gb ide hd

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

What Mike said.

Also, be sure you are using the appropriate cable on your DVD drive. knappster had the same issue as you, see the last 2 posts here http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 9&start=30

That worked! If you are using the asus m2npv-vm motherboard with an ultra dma dvd drive, use the cd cable for the hdd's and the hdd for the dvd drive.

Errrmm, no, I wouldn't recommend that. From what I can gather the "CD cable" is not a UDMA cable (it's 40-pin, I believe), and you'll want a UDMA cable (80-pin) for both your DVD and hard drive(s).
