Is there a howto on rebuilding packages from /home/mythtv/r4_src/? I have been getting compile errors when I tried mythmusic and mythtv.

I plan on trying to find a couple alternatives to scrolling long lists in mythgame/mythmusic.

Here were my basic steps:

cd /home/mythtv/r4_src/
tar xvfj mythtv-0.12.tar.bz2
cd mythtv-0.12
./configure
make mythtv.pro
make

...
dialogbox.cpp:4:21: qlayout.h: No such file or directory
...

My guess is this is some QT libraries missing. I am new to debian and QT so i just need a push in the right direction.

I just found my own answer. You need to type:

export QTDIR=/usr/share/qt3/

before running make.

I will post any future patches...

Any patches you make should be submitted to the myth-dev mailing list.

Will do. Need to actually write something first...

Is there anyone out here in the KnoppMyth world that keeps their system uptodate with the cvs version?

By far the best music player interface I have ever seen can be found here.

http://www.jbsim.co.uk/index.php Try it out. :D

It only requires the numeric keys, left & right arrows & Enter. It queues the songs "real jukebox" style and even fades between songs.

I have this on my windoze laptop, and everybody who has seen it can use it with zero instruction. (even my IT Illiterate friends and my 8 yr old love it)

Maybe we should get the author interested in Myth, and try to get him to port it over.

I'm not a programmer, but I would have thought this style of interface would only need a DB ID adding to each song and a simple gui window to provide a song selection box.

Rgds,
Pete

That is pretty sharp looking. Do you have a windows app that gets album covers? My work box is XP.

I will be happy when the music UI looks like the video UI that gets the covers. Too bad the DVD players doesn't download and cache the covers somewhere. Hopefully soon. Though maturing, myth is still in its infancy.
