Hi, I'm new to this.

I read the install guides:
http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/?id=KnoppMythInstall
and
http://www.mysettopbox.tv/doc.html

And followed them closely, however, after Auto Install the system restarts and goes through some stuff, but eventually gets stuck at something like
Quote:
"bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) for capture"

I think this has something to do with my capture card. My specs are as follows:-

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M61SME-S2L
  • Graphics: Leadtek WinFast 8400GS
  • RAM: 2GB DDR2 Generic
  • HDD: Western Digital 750GB SATA
  • Capture Card: Leadtek DTV2000H

(I do not know if this has anything to do with it, but it also says 'invalid MAC, generating random MAC address' or something along those lines)

I can post more info if need be.

If anyone can offer some advise, I'd be very appreciative.

Do you have more than 1 optical drive in the system? It used to be the case that having 2 optical drives would result in the system hanging during the reboot that occurs after the auto install. If you do have this situation, try disconnecting one of the optical drives.

Nope, only 1 optical drive. However, the SATA shows up as an IDE drive... This is how it looks in BIOS: -

Channel 0 Master - Optical Drive
Channel 0 Slave - None
Channel 2 Master - SATA Drive
Channel 3 Master - None

Also, I did notice that it said something about not being able to mount the file system because it is read only -- just before the bttv error -- this makes me think it is something about the drive configuration.

I have taken out the Optical Drive and tried booting. It still gets stuck at that bttv part, but it seems to have found the drive...

EDIT: After playing around with it last night, I think the problem might be my graphics card. I think it may be loading the wrong drivers. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to install the latest nVidia drivers?
