I wiped the disk with a quick format using the Seagate utilties.
Reinstalled KnoppMyth and ran into the issues of not being able to start the database, QT errors, etc.
I read through a previous post and being still a bit unsure of getting around, wondering if a low level format would fix this or is there a better way ?

btw, I tried editing mqsql.txt , obviously that didn't help/

You are not providing enough information. One qt error is normal. Did you check the log to see why the db isn't starting?

Is this after a install? Did you allow the script to complete the process after the reboot. Did you get an cloop errors during the install?

Yes, this is post install. I assume the script completed as I only followed the prompts as they came. No cloop or any other errors during the install. After I reboot, I get the xterm window asking for my password. Then we go through the timezone / time again, then the i586 stuff. Then it says it's initiailizing the database. At the time it says to answer yes to both the questions ( i think one is about the capture card settings) it gives the error about the password but flies back with no's to those two questions then the mysql errors and then the qt errors, tries to restart the front end and then leaves me with a blank screen.

How bad is this situation?

I have tried to the the reinstall now a few times. I even swiped the disk thinking that Lilo was effecting the install.

Thankyou,
StuartAmbient
The first install went so well. Still it's probably a good experience (provided it can be fixed) to learn from.

Anyone see the above errors before? It appeared the problem happened during configuration.
