well that error generally indicates that you are trying to install onto a scsi drive or drives that are on a raid array, the autoinstall does not support this. It can possibly be accomplised using the manual install with some work. See the note in the manual install section of the install doc.

hmmm, i don't have any SCSI HDD or drives that are on a raid arry...the only thing is that my motherboard had an Silicon Image Sil 3112 SATARaid Controller.

But this ist the only thing, no HDD's or CD-ROM are on SCSI or in Raid Array

SATA will do it too. The default knoppmyth autoinstall will only work with onboard primary master. which shows up in linux as /dev/hda anything else will not work and requires manual install.

make sure that your ide hard drive is set to primary master, i had the same error when i first built my box. you can check yourself by using your bios. basically just set whatever hd you want to be the one being installed to primary master, then any other backup hard drives to primary slave. then set the cd/ddvd drive to secondary master/slave. the problem is the disk reading. when it isn't set to primary the myth cant read it
