I'm a bit of a Linux noob, so please be gentle!!

I've got several things not working in the latest install of KnoppMyth, but before I start troubleshooting, I need to be able to see my screen!

It seems that after booting, and the screen switches to a graphics mode, the screen is set to a very high resolution that my monitor cannot display. I need to set the resolution to 800x600. How do I do that?

You can edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and get rid of the resolutions you do not desire. Once complete that, restart gdm. Or you can reinstalling and at the splashscreen type tv and press <ENTER>.

Thanks for your reply!

By spashscreen, you mean one where the prompt that says "Knoppix:" is at the bottom of the screen? I type "tv" at that prompt?

When the CD first boots you see "KNOPPMYTH" and the TV. At the bottom of the screen type 'tv' and press <ENTER>.
