Post subject:  tv_grab_de: command not found

Hi there!

I'm currently facing some problems with KnoppMyth R4V4. I'm trying to set up the system for telekabel in austria and get tv_grab_de: command not found and the setup programm says:

MythTV was unable to retrieve channel information for your provider.
Please check the terminal window for more information.

Any hints?

greetings,
wrk

Did you check what output was visible in the console window? (You need to switch to that from the X based setup using ALT-tab. I had to hit that several times to work)

Create a symlink to tv_grab_de_tvtoday named tv_grab_de, run it with --configure, then go back to myth again.

Other possibility would be to change tv_grab_de to tv_grab_de_tvtoday in mythconverge, but i think symlink is better choice.

Thanks that helped.

Now I've got the channel information, but I've only got 3SAT and snow on the screen.

How Do I set the freqency for all channels and what can I do with channels where I don't get any EPG date for?

greetings,
wrk

use mythtv-setup or the webinterface to fill up channelinformation as follows:

use eg http://www.muenchen.de/Tourismus/Kultur ... radio.html

bezeichnung = deutsch
freqid = Kanal
E8 = K8
SE10 = S8 (Sonderkanäle)
...

Did you run tv_grab_de --configure? To select the channels you wanna get grabbed?

Yes, but for some channels available in austria there is no information on tv-today.

Have you solve the jittering problem?

If you missing the right channel numbers/names, check the info from your cable TV provider for your area. (in Germany under www.kabeldeutschland.de).
I found that here the channel numbers were different then what is used in Myth. I had to compare the real frequencies as defined in frequency.h (could be also frequency.c - out of memory) with what your provider names for you and use the channel names from frequency.x to enter them in the channel editor

Thanks that helped a lot.

I should have entered the frequencies from the beginning, but no one told me that eg 183,25 MHz should be 183250.

Thanks again
