I'm running my KnoppMyth box behind a proxy server for web access. I can't get MythTV (or the fvwm session into which I drop after exit from MythTV) to register the necessary http_proxy variable. I've tried putting the appropriate lines in /etc/profile, ~/.profile and even ~/.xprofile, which is what I am used to doing. When I drop to the console (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and log in as root, http_proxy has been registered --- clearly it's being picked up from /etc/profile. Any help on how I can set an environment variable for MythTV (otherwise I can't use all those great web features such as IMDB information searches)? |
