Hi,

I had a working installation on this machine with R4V2. For various reasons I as re-installing and wanted to upgrade. But after the (auto-) install it doesn't boot.

It stops pretty early after saying 'pty: 256 Unix98 ptys configured'. Then Caps-Lock starts blinking and the system completely stops responding.

Hardware: Shuttle SK41G, onboard sound, video and network. I manually installed the video driver for the Savage-videochip.

Does anybody know how to fix this? I found some references to the keyboard-blinking, but no solutions. What comes after the 'pty...'-message in the boot process?

Thanks,
christian

so far every keyboard blinking situation has been a problem with the NIC. try diabling the onboard nic. I now this is not a real solution on one of those small systems, but it may at least get it to boot, but I would imaging you are going to have to go back to v2 or 3 and upgrade mythtv rather than using v4 or 4.1 as their kernels have some real problems with this. Hopefully it will be fixed in R5.

Hmm, I can't find any option to deactivate the NIC in my BIOS...

Anyway, neither R4V4.1 nor R4V3 worked. When I installed R4V2 (Thank god for mirrors!) again, I noticed that the other versions block right in front of the initaliation of the keyboard.

Don't R4V3 and 4 recognize USB keyboards?

Bye,
christian
