 Post subject: R6 no samba

Hello, did an upgrade first, no results. I started from scratch and still, no samba? /etc/init.d /samba start does not work, says there is no samba?

Can anyone help with this?

Hi,

R6 still a preview version and some R5.5 features hasn't been implemented yet. I guess samba is one of them.

I thought Samba was there.... you have to enable it via the service menu if memory serves me. The option might be called 'windows sharing' or something.

I got it all going thanks to you, thanks very much!

One more question however, once I move videos in, how do I update them so I can see them? I don't see the option I used in 5.5.

There is some option (can't remember it exactly) in the service>myhtv setup>video>general maybe) that allows videos to just get added without the video manager scanning them. You want to enable it. You might need to switch the video browse mode to list as well.
