I had a working knoppmyth 5.5 system with my hauppage pvr 500 and and pcHDTV 3000 card working but a failing hard drive convinced me that it was time to upgrade to the latest version.

I've gone through several distributions trying stuff, even tried mythbuntu but ended up back on Linhes. I have the pcHDTV 3000 getting my QAM cable stuff but when I try and change the source to one of the analog channels defined on my PVR 500 the screen goes black for a while and then I am back on a digital channel.

I have the 500 defined as a Analog V4L capture card with tuner 1 on /dev/video0 and tuner 2on /dev/video2.

Can someone walk me through troubleshooting this? As far as linux and tv goes my knowledge is pretty limited.

Thank you!

I don't have one of these but I am pretty sure the 500 has a hardware mpeg2 encoder so you should define it as an MPEG2 Encoder card in mythtv-setup.

Thank you very much, that did it!

I don't remember having it set up that way in 5.5 but hey, whatever works.

Thank you again!
