Any chance I can safely update the kernel with KnoppMyth using the package:

"kernel-image-2.4.22-epiamn_dbox.2_i386.deb"

probably depends on what you are using. things I can think of off the top of my head that would probably break are lirc, alsa, and the ivtv support. There may be more.

So I already did a dpkg --install on it, my mistake. I did not place a boot block though on Knoppix. On reboot it was the Knoppix that came up.
Now I'm left with two issues.

1-How do I get that package off my system?

2-Are there any current kernel patches I can use that would support the Via video drivers? (Still reading and posting at Viaarena. An lot of threads with bits and pieces that I'm trying to piece together to fit into KM)
