I added a new remote to my existing Knoppmyth. I made a mistake - ran the install-i686-l - should have run the install-i586-l (and I knew that - just careless). Can somebody tell me how to uninstall i686 so that I can reinstall i586. Or do I have to rebuild? System - Compaq 1.8 R4V4 Thanks |

From the biref description you gave of your boxen "Compaq 1.8", I assume it is a 1.8 GHz CPU. As far as I know, there are no 1.8 GHz 586 class processor. i686 class processors are PentiumPro on up and Athlon on up. If your processor is indeed a i586 class processor install-i586-l will remove i686 binaries and install i586 class binaries. |

Thanks - I figured it out. I finally found a post with a similar issue. Once removed and reinstalled it worked fine. |
