Hi Guys

Recently re-installed with V5, ran into a few problems, the most important being that I cannot get channel and guide information into the database.

I was orginally running fine on V4, using a combination of tv_grab_uk_rt, for grabbing from the radio times site, and www.bleb.org.

The UK RT radio times site is now not allowing downloads of program info. But a little script to pull data from www.bleb.org works fine. I think the way it originally worked for me on R4 was that the mythfilldatabase with the data from uk rt made all the necessary entries in the database, I then squirted the guide info into that using the bleb.org script, which worked a lot quicker. Now I cant get at uk rt I cannot get my database initially configured. I have a list of all the channels I want in there, just got no idea how to go about it......

I may have a back up of the previous database before I did the auto upgrade feature of R5, but have little if no experience of using sql to try and get it back in.....

Can anyone please help.......

Regards

autoupgrade is supposed to put the database back for you. If it did not try running mythrestore as root.

Where did you get R5?! One needs to run mythbackup prior to doing an Auto Upgrade.

Build 49?! That is old... It did all kinds of wacky things. I'm up to build 143 now.

Hi guys !!!

I renamed and restored an older mythconverge.sql.bak, and it is just like before !!! I now have my channels back, and associated icons, with full program guide !!! Thanks a lot.......

No I just need to add icons (know how to do that), and add the rest of the channels I can get from UK Freeview. The ones I already have in the database are the ones I can get listings for. I cannot get listings for the remaining ones from my current source, I presume I just add them in channels setup in mythtv-setup, but dont associate them to a source ???? I just want to get them in the program guide so that as I/we change channel we know what channel name we are getting.....

Do you people out there concur ????

Also, is it possible to pull program guide data from more than one source ????

Regards
