ivtv unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32)... Then the install hangs after first boot. I never get to enter PW or select 686, install XvMC, etc. Is this a problem with the tuner card? Is there a way to resolve this issue?

That message is harmless. You'll have to look elsewhere for the source of your problem. Where does it hang? Have you got a keyboard plugged in? Is it a PS2 or a USB keyboard?

I am using v5 and the auto install. The Install from cd is successful, knoppix ejects the install cd and asks for me to press enter to reboot. I remove the install cd, press enter. The system reboots and starts configuring sound, ect. then hangs up. the last line at the bottom of the list on the screen says, "ivtv ubreasonably low latency time, setting to 64 (was 32)" and its just locked up solid. I have to restart the PC, but hangs same place each reboot. Installed with auto install three times. changed ps2 keyboard and usb mouse, always hangs same place.

I installed Knoppmyth on my other computer without a tuner card, and everything went perfectly. I can only guess that Knoppmyth doesnt like the new Hauppauge PVR-250MCE. Mandrake Linux works fine on my Shuttle PC that has the Tuner card. Would I be able to get Myth TV installed and configured on it using Mandrake instead of the Knoppmyth cd I downloaded. Thanks.

sure people have had success using mandrake. It's just not as easy as using knoppmyth.

OK, so pull the card, let the system boot and then monkey with the card type settings. You may even need to compile a new version of the IVTV driver to get it recognized. I've never had to do this myself (the card type thing), so I'll have to tell you to search the forum for details...
