I've installed KnoppMyth R4V5 following these steps: Post I get through steps 1-7 no problem, then when I get to step 8, it says errors occured but I'm back at a prompt. --- dpkg: error processing mythtv-i686-xvmc_0.16-1_i386.deb(--install): cannot access archive: no such file or directory Errors were encountered while processing: mythtv-i686-xvmc_0.16-1_i386.deb root@mythtv:~1.23# --- I hit ctrl-alt-f7 to get back to the GUI, which is the knoppmyth grey background, with nothing on the screen, no x-term or anything. I didn't know what to do, so I clicked exit Fvwm, then it went to the debian desktop manager, I logged in with the username and pw I set up during installation. Now I'm at a blank purple screen. I click and then click on MythTV, nothing happens. I rebooted and back at the empty grey knoppmyth screen. Not sure what went wrong where, need help, totally new to linux in general. Don't know what to do next. Thanks for you help. |

how about trying and install with these instructions and don't try fancy stuff till you have a good install. |
