I'm in the config screens and noticing that it's asking for my external IP address. I also see that it wants to use ports 6543 and 6544. I have no interest in accessing this box from an external location, just inside my LAN. Do I need to give it my WAN IP and do I need to open those ports in my firewall?

Thanks!

If you are referring to mythtv-setup, the ips it is referring to is the IP of the box it running on and the master backend is on. If you only have one box, you can left it as 127.0.0.1. Perhaps you should take a look at the MythTV How-To.
