Is there a setup guide for MythTV somewhere?

http://www.mythtv.org/modules.php?name=MythInstall

That's the official documents for mythtv that is clearly linked off of the official mythtv website at www.mythtv.org

The documents for the knoppmyth project are at:
http://www.mysettopbox.tv/doc.html

Both these things are easily found just by visiting the frontpage of either project. Even a google search would have turned up the mythtv documents. Since knoppmyth and mythtv are do it yourself projects please practice a little bit of that ethic prior to asking a question on the forum, mailing lists or IRC channels.

Sorry if I angered people. I actually found both documents prior to asking. The mythtv.org doc contains lots of steps that KnoppMyth did automatically for me. I also read the Knopp FAQ but I still seem to be experiencing some problems.

If you are having problems then you should clearing and concisely explain the problems you have and what steps you've taken to resolve them. Since you found the answer before asking, why post? :?

It's not so much angered.. It's just that that was a question you could have easily answered for yourself and it looks like you did prior to posting so why ask? Also, I noticed from your other posts that you're trying to set this up without a tv tuner card. That could possibly be part of the reason why things aren't working. Knoppmyth runs a whole bunch of scripts to configure everything at install (I have no idea how many or what they all do, I'm just guessing here) and perhaps the developers didn't account for someone not having a tv tuner card and this makes a script crash somewhere that would normally configure more multimedia stuff like tv out. I don't know if this is happening, but I do know it's generally not a good idea to try and install mythtv when you don't have all your hardware setup yet. What you really should do is get all your hardware setup and plugged in (network connection, keyboard, mouse, remote, etc) then install knoppmyth closely following the instructions and then try and fix any problems you might have yourself. If that doesn't work then post on here.
I'm not sure why your tv out doesn't work but I'm running a geforce card myself AND using the nforce2 audio and ethernet connection on my nforce2 based motherboard and knoppmyth installed fine...

Thanks for the tips. Yea, I have a sound blaster and geforce3 board that are not onbaord :) I was hoping there was some keyboard trick to dump the output to the tv instead of the video board....

mine isn't onboard either. The onboard doesn't have tv-out. I had to buy another board. I also didn't have to do anything special at all.. following the install directions exactly just made it work.
