I've been trying to install Knoppix from a SCSI CDROM drive. From searching the forum, I can't find anyone saying that this works. Is that true? Can Knoppix run from my SCSI drive? I'm using a TekRam SCSI controller.

Yes, it can. However the module needed to boot from a Tektam controller may not be miniroot.gz.

So, where should I go from there? Can I use a replacement for miniroot.gz? Should I just try to install debian linux?

I've decided to go with Fedora, which at least gave me a slightly different error message. Since Fedora has more information (I loathe to use the word "support") out there, I was able to find that this is a common problem with the new kernels.
