I have a NVIDIA card with DVI output running to my widescreen tv. I have the drivers installed for the card although it displays outside the tv. Not only does it scale wrong it appears very grainy. Any Ideas? |

Perhaps press 'W' to cycle thru the display options may yield results. |

it's probably a matter of getting the right modelines. search the mythtv mailing list, I know they've had several discussions on this subject. |

Well I did some searching but I'm still kinda confused.... what would I do to the XF86Config with this information? Quote: I believe that, with the current code in CVS, you can accomplish what
you want to do (minus the current bug involving already-anamorphic source material) by setting your display size to 16:9 in the XF86Config file -- add "DisplaySize 375 210" (or some other measurement that's 16:9, in millimeters) to the "Monitor" section. Note that the actual size of the screen was not appropriate in my case, as it made the fonts much too small. I have dug around and found the following modelines Modeline "480p" 27.028 720 738 802 858 480 487 494 525 -hsync -vsync |

I think reading the Linux HTPC will help to get you what you desire. http://www.sllug.org/how-to/linux-htpc/introduction.html |

Hmm nothing changed after adding a Widescreen modeline, possibly the fact that when i boot the computer it gives me an error about passing an bad resolution or something and it ends up booting in 640x480 could be the problem?

As I don't run widescreen, I don't know. Did you read the How-To? It has info on HDTV and modelines... |
