Post subject:  AverTV DVB-T 771 and R5A10

Has anyone tried to install R5A10 and a AverTV DVB-T 771 card yet ?. Looks like the card is detected but mythtv-setup says i card find the card dvb0... any help appreciated.

Is ther surposed to be a frontend0 interface like in R4V4 ?

No firmware for DVB cards are included. If your cards requires firmware, that is the issue.

Is ther a howto on installing firmware into myth for DVB-T cards ?

Those boot messages are mostly from BTTV, which is the Video4Linux driver. It would be for digitizing analogue video if that card has an S-Video or Composite video signal. It doesn't do much with DVB cards.

Yes, there is meant to be a frontend device. I think the 771 needs the mt352 frontend, which isn't in 2.6.9 or R5A10.

A quick web search found:

which implies that
1) the Aver 771 doesn't need downloaded firmware, and
2) the kernel in R5A10, which I think is 2.6.9, doesn't include the drivers for this DVB card. 2.6.10 will probably work fine.
