Post subject:  Removing Various components and the token alsa problem

I got Knoppmyth installed and despite a couple unsolved problems i like it. My question is how do I remove various components safely for example motion, mythgame, mythgallery, mythnews and mythweather. I just want TV, Video, DVD and music.

Do i use dpkg -r <package name>? Is it that simple?

Also ALSA wont work. I have a SBLive! When my box boots up I get recieve this error: "aumix:error opening mixer" I also got this error during the mythtv setup right after install.

My last question is which Nvidia drivers should I use, the 5328 or the 4363 drivers?
Thanks

PS: I am a newbie at linux but after reading various howto's is it worth it for knoppmyth to recompile the kernel? If it is worth the effort is this correct
~cd /usr/src/linux
~make menuconfig

~make dep && make clean bzImage modules modules_install
~cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot

I'd stick w/ 4363.

Yes, everything works the same w/ KnoppMyth as it does w/ any other distribution.
